CROWN WINS THREE ASIA CANTECH 2016 AWARDS

CROWN Asia Pacific, a division of Crown Holdings, Inc., took home three awards at the recent Asia CanTech 2016 awards, including the event’s top prize. The Supreme Award and Decorative Award were given to Crown for the 355ml sleek style can the Company developed for Monster Energy’s Monster Ultra product line. 

This beverage can was recognized for the use of several techniques that result in a unique visual and tactile experience for consumers. Tactile inks and decorative varnishes give the beverage can a special wet-look effect and a distinctive texture that differentiates the package on shelf and in consumers’ hands. Filled-in-tab technology on the can end combined with the iconic Monster Claw logo printed on the can’s body clearly communicates the brand’s identity. Monster Ultra debuted in the Asian market and made its first stop in Korea.

Crown received a third award in the two-piece beverage can category for the 375 ml sleek style can it produced for Pepsi.

The introduction of 355ml and 375ml sleek style cans in Asia offer beverage brands the opportunity to refresh their packaging mix and respond to demand from consumers for greater choice. The smaller volume also reflects demand from Asian consumers for smaller serving sizes. CROWN Asia Pacific’s portfolio includes 13 different can sizes ranging from 150ml to 500ml with slim, sleek and standard styles, allowing beverage brands to offer greater variety to consumers in the region.
