Good perspectives for ISM & ProSweets Cologne 2018


Cologne, the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry, is once again in 2018 showing its clear profile as the central order and information platform for the innovative sweets and snacks industry. Numerous companies have already registered for the coming trade fair in January 2018, including top exhibitors from the supplier industry. In total, over 300 companies from the sections manufacturing, packing and ingredients are once again expected in Cologne from 28 to 31 January 2018. The supporting programme is also taking on shape. For example, the "Speakers' Corner", the Newcomer Area and a special event on ingredients will be staged. Furthermore, a special event on the theme "Packaging - Design and Functionality" is planned. In addition, in the scope of ISM, the world's largest trade fair for sweets and snacks, which is being staged parallel once more, the "ISM Packaging Award powered by ProSweets Cologne" will be conferred again.

The top exhibitors from the Machinery and Systems (process technology) product section at ProSweets Cologne 2018 include among others Aasted ApS, Carle & Montanari S.p.A., Royal Duyvis Wiener B.V., Haas Food Equipment GmbH, Hänsel Processing GmbH, Knobel Maschinenbau AG, Memak Plastik San Tic Ltd.Sti., NETZSCH-Feinmahltechnik GmbH, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann KG and Sollich KG.

In the section of Packaging Machines among others Robert Bosch GmbH Packaging Technology Division, Fuji Packaging GmbH, Gerhard Schubert GmbH, Loesch Verpackungstechnik GmbH, M.C. Automations S.r.l. and Theegarten-Pactec GmbH & Co. KG have all signed up to participate again.

Packing and Packing Materials will be presented again by Belgian Sweets Design, ESBE Plastic GmbH, Schur Star Systems GmbH and Sopp Industrie GmbH.

Among others Baumgartner Schokoladen GmbH, GNT Group B.V., Döhler GmbH, Norevo GmbH and Ulmer Schokoladen will be exhibiting Raw Materials and Ingredients.

The new exhibitors in the year 2018 include AZO GmbH + Co. KG, BOEMA S.p.A., Kanegrade UK und ProLeit AG.

The planning of the supporting programme for ProSweets Cologne is also underway. Companies that would like to test the waters with their first trade fair appearance at ProSweets Cologne on a small budget, can book their participation in the Newcomer Area from May onwards. The successful special event "Ingredients" is being continued and offers companies from the ingredients segment an attractive participation model. Interesting themes and speakers are being put together for the Speakers' Corner, in order to represent the current market and product developments as well as the trends in a lively and dialogue-oriented manner. Everything also revolves around trends in the "Packaging - Design and Functionality" special event too, which is being conducting by Koelnmesse. The "ISM Packaging Award powered by ProSweets Cologne that was conferred for the first time in 2017 will also be awarded again.

ProSweets Cologne is staged parallel to ISM, the world's largest and most important trade fair for sweets and snacks. With around 1,700 international exhibitors from around 70 countries, the trade fair offers a unique overview of the new products worldwide and provides access to nearly 38,000 trade visitors from approx. 150 countries.

Together with ISM, ProSweets Cologne covers the entire value chain of the production and sales of sweets and snacks at the same time and place - a worldwide unique constellation.

ISM 2018: 90% are already booked

Good prospects for the coming ISM, the world's largest trade fair for sweets and snacks: Already 90 percent of last year's exhibition space is already booked, six months before the opening of the fair. Once again a strong, international field of participants, comprising of around 1,600 exhibitors, will be presenting themselves and countless new products in Cologne. Boasting an 86 percent share of foreign exhibitors and 62 percent share of foreign visitors, the trade fair is one of the most international trade fairs in the world. ProSweets Cologne - the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry - will once again be staged parallel to ISM from 28 to 31 January 2018.

The market leaders among the exhibitors, who have already confirmed their participation, include ABK Confectionery, Barcel, Baronie, Cémoi, Colombina, Fini Golosinas, Griesson - de Beukelaer, Guylian, Icam, Ion, Kalfany, Kambly, Katjes, Kinnerton, Lambertz, Loacker, Manner, Millano, Natra, Niederegger, PEZ, Ragolds, Ricola, Riegelein, Roshen, Rübezahl, Seeberger, Seitenbacher, Sölen, The Lorenz Bahlsen Snackworld, Toms Confectionery, Trolli, United Confectioners, Vidal Golosinas, Wawel, Wawi and Zentis.

In total, exhibitors from around 60 countries are expected to participate. These include among others companies from countries such as Armenia, Guatemala, Iceland or Nepal. For instance, one of the largest food producers from Armenia is exhibiting at ISM for the first time. The company's portfolio includes around 400 different items, i.e. chocolate, sweets, fruit gums, chewing-gum as well as biscuits, waffles, ice cream and coffee. A Guatemalan supplier of Macadamia nuts, chocolate and coffee is travelling to Cologne for ISM. A further manufacturer from this Central American country is bringing fruit gums and marshmallows to Cologne for ISM.

For the first time ever a company from Nepal is bringing its wide spectrum of products to Cologne: Chocolate waffles, lollies, toffees, fruit sweets and peppermints as well as chewing-gum. The chocolate waffles of this Nepalese manufacturer have already received an award from the DLG (German Agricultural Society.

Chocolate containing liquorice is a particular speciality - specifically in Iceland. An Icelandic company is offering different variations of this special flavour at ISM and will at the same time be presenting a large selection of other liquorice products.
Furthermore, national pavilions will also be a further focus of attention again. They combine country-specific flair with a large diversity of products and especially offer smaller and medium-sized companies attractive framework conditions for their trade fair appearance at the world's largest trade fair for sweets and snacks.

Country pavilions from the following countries have already registered for ISM 2018: Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the Ukraine and the USA.

Both trade fairs are exclusively open to trade visitors.
