AMI’s leading Plastic Closure Innovations Conference goes virtual for 2021

Industry professionals and technical experts from around the world will come together once again for the annual Plastic Closure Innovations event organised by plastics industry consultants AMI. For the first time, this event will be held virtually from 1-3 June 2021. Plastic Closure Innovations is Europe’s leading international forum, dedicated to the plastic caps and closures industry, exploring new development opportunities, challenges and questions facing the market.

The new format delivers a three-day programme of expert presentations, including live Q&A sessions, allowing attendees to interact, engage and be a part of the discussion. The platform also hosts a virtual exhibition area to leverage exposure. During the designated networking sessions professionals can connect via private meetings, scheduled with their chosen contacts. Brand-owners are invited to join the event as VIP guests.

“Whether you want to reach out to end customers or keep up with the hot topics in the industry, Plastic Closure Innovations is an ideal venue”, comments Marketing and Innovations Director of Berry Bramlage.

The conference’s content-led programme provides a holistic view of the latest applications, technology and material developments which are moving the industry forward, allowing delegates to anticipate change and help exploit business opportunities.

Leading plastic closure producers will share their views on key market development areas and challenges and will highlight case studies of recent new product developments covering some high-level innovations. These include Berry GlobalUnited CapsWisecap Group (formerly CDS Viroplastic), RetalNippon Closures and Jabil.

Given the regulatory context, the technical focus of the event will be placed on advancements of the tethered closure designs. To inform multi-dimensional industry orientation, the event will feature presentations from CETIEDanone Waters and Henkel, while an overview of the European plastic closures market will be provided by AMI Consulting.

Technology developments and material science have a great impact on the industry’s profitability and efficiency. The virtual summit serves as a platform to promote innovation in moulding and automation technology as well as tool design via presentations from Ermo, Husky, Z-moulds, ThermoPlay, IMA Automation, and Frigel Firenze. Headline sponsor, Sabic, will showcase new grades designed for caps and closures, while Milliken and Colors & Effects will present innovation in resin additives to enhance barriers and manage the warping phenomenon.
