Falcon wins double in lockdown launches poll

Fryer Angel and Vario-Therm trolley won food service equipment distributors’ votes.

A recent poll asked catering equipment distributors which were their favorite lockdown launches – and Falcon came top in two categories.

The poll was organized by Catering Insight, the B2B magazine for foodservice equipment distributors. Launching any new product is a long and complex procedure – the lockdowns caused by the pandemic have added immeasurably to the workload and stress.  “It was a brilliant idea to see which products ticked the right boxes for distributors over this difficult period,” says Peter McAllister, managing director of Falcon.  “Kudos to Catering Insight for the concept!  Everyone at Falcon was delighted to win not one but two of the categories.  We took the decision to accelerate our product development efforts during lockdown so it’s great to have recognition for the team’s hard work getting these products to market.”

The two winners were the Falcon Fryer Angel, for the accessories category, and Falcon’s new Vario-Therm trolley, for the hot holding and transportation category.  The Fryer Angel is an all-new system that monitors deep fat fryers to prevent fires and flare-ups.  The first of its kind, the Fryer Angel received an impressive 44% of the total vote in its category.  The Vario-Therm trolley is part of a completely new meal delivery system range.  Its combination of advanced features and practical benefits won an emphatic 55% of the vote.

“I’d like to congratulate all the Lockdown Launches winners, and to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to vote for their favourites,” says Peter.
