HOBART a winner with its TLW

For its TWO LEVEL WASHER, the ware-washing technology manufacturer HOBART was recently awarded for the German Innovation Award 2021 in the category “Excellence in Business to Business – Retail & Trade Solutions”. The German Design Council has been granting the award annually since 1953 for design, brand and innovation achievements that are of international significance. HOBART’s TLW beats many competitors with only around half of the 680 entries, receiving awards.

The TWO-LEVEL WASHER is the first commercial dishwasher in the world to have a second wash chamber, which can be used simultaneously for washing. The TLW not only increases the capacity for plates, coffee cups or GN pans, but also the flexibility for the different types of wash wares. By increasing the capacity per wash cycle, HOBART is making the tasks of dishwashing staff much easier. This dish and utensil washer is not only extremely efficient, but it also has a very small footprint, making it equally suitable for smaller kitchens. Despite the second washing level, the TLW does not take up any more space than a conventional dishwasher, thanks to its compact design.

The jury was made up of impartial, interdisciplinary specialists from industry, academia, institutions and the financial sector. Submissions are evaluated according to level of innovation, user benefits and economy. The innovation needs to consider aspects such as social, environmental, economic sustainability and the use of energy and resources.
Also important for the jury were factors such as the innovation’s potential for the location and for jobs, its longevity, market maturity, technical quality and function, materiality, and synergy effects.
