Packaging Speaks Green: The wait is over

More than 400 registered participants, 38 speakers and multidisciplinary discussions. The event is set to begin in a few hours’ time with opening remarks from Undersecretary of State Manlio Di Stefano, ITA Director General Claudio Luongo and the Chairmen of Ucima and Amaplast

The stage is set for Packaging Speaks Green, the international forum devoted to the development of a culture of sustainability and circular economy in the packaging sector due to be held in the Milan Exhibition Centre from Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 May 2022.

Expectations are high for this second edition of the forum, which will be packed with content, analysis and events. These expectations are reflected not just in the interest shown by all the stakeholders from the packaging and plastics supply chain during these months of organisation, but also in the figures: over 400 registered participants, 38 speakers and 4 thematic areas organised over a period of 4 days and in 4 locations within the exhibition centre.

Each day’s events will focus on a macro-theme corresponding to an industrial sector, which will be analysed in panel discussions, meetings and talks.

After the opening session, the first day’s events will focus on pharma, beauty & chemicals, before moving on to the topic of plastics and recycling on Wednesday. The third day will be devoted to food preservation, while the final session on Friday will address the food & beverage sector as a whole.

The opening session will begin at 2.30 pm on Tuesday in the Martini Room of the Services Centre. The proceedings will be opened by Manlio Di Stefano, the Government’s Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Roberto Luongo, Director General of the Italian Trade Agency ITA, Matteo Gentili, Chairman of Ucima, and Dario Previero, Chairman of Amaplast. The subsequent sessions will take place in the event areas in Halls 2, 5 and 14.

The panel of speakers will include lecturers, researchers and representatives of national and international institutions and consortia, as well as of leading global brands such as Alibaba.com, Ferrarelle, Nestlé and Procter & Gamble.

Registrations are also open on the Conference website, giving participants two days of free admission to the exhibition centre.

The conference will be held in conjunction with the two major trade fairs IPACK-IMA, devoted to processing and packaging technologies, and GreenPlast, which focuses on the plastics and rubber industry.

Packaging Speaks Green 2022 is organised by Pack-Media with the support of UCIMA (Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) and AMAPLAST (Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Moulds Manufacturers’ Association).

The initiative is backed by several leading players in the field of packaging machinery manufacturing (IMA, Marchesini Group, Robopac and OCME) as well as the Italian Plastics Institute IIP.

The event is organized under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency ITA.
