Russian exposition has started its work at Gulfood 2022

On February 13, the international food exhibition Gulfood 2022 opened in Dubai, where, with the support of the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group), more than 60 Russian companies present their products, which have already been highly appreciated in the market of the Gulf countries and are popular at buyers.

The opening of the exposition was attended by a government delegation consisting of top officials of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Export Center, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the United Arab Emirates.

In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin noted that this year the Russian exposition was presented on a very large scale, and also expressed confidence that the Russian presence at the exhibition every year opens up new opportunities for export, for the supply of Russian products to the markets of the region.

“The Persian Gulf countries are one of the most promising regions for Russian food products. Customers and partners have long appreciated their quality, our products are in high demand among buyers from this region. Domestic food exports to the Gulf countries in 2021 amounted to more than $838 million. The most popular products are barley and wheat, sunflower oil is in third place. The top five also includes poultry meat and chocolate,” said Veronika Nikishina, CEO Russian Export Center.

Leading Russian producers of grain, meat, dairy, confectionery, oil and fat products, as well as drinks and caviar take part in the GULFOOD – 2022 exhibition, which will last until February 17. In addition, the exposition is accompanied by a rich business program. Russian exporters will hold more than 400 business meetings with potential buyers and partners to discuss the prospects for cooperation.
