The Italian Business Council Launches Inaugural Edition of The Pasta Awards in the UAE

The Italian Business Council, a private association operating under the esteemed Dubai Chamber in the UAE, proudly unveils its latest endeavor, The Pasta Awards. This pioneering culinary competition sets out to discover and celebrate the finest restaurants serving pasta dishes in the UAE.

Renowned for its diverse food scene and status as a culinary hub, the UAE offers an array of international flavors and influences. Amidst this multicultural culinary landscape, The Pasta Awards embarks on an exciting quest to rediscover the essence of traditional Italian cuisine while embracing the innovative approaches of international chefs.

“Pasta, the quintessential symbol of Italian cuisine, has now found its place on menus throughout the country. THE PASTA AWARDS celebrates the art of crafting exceptional pasta creations, providing participants and guests with an extraordinary culinary experience,” explains Thomas Paoletti, President of the Italian Business Council.

Organized in collaboration with the UAE Restaurant Group and the Emirates Culinary Guild, this remarkable event unfolds in three distinct phases. Starting from June 23rd until July 31st, the public is invited to nominate their preferred pasta-serving restaurants across three categories: Best Innovative Pasta, Best Traditional Pasta, and Best Vegetarian Pasta.

Following the nomination phase, from August to September, the 21 restaurants with the highest number of nominations will be visited by the professional jury of the Emirates Culinary Guild. This esteemed panel will carefully evaluate each restaurant’s offerings and select six finalists (two per category).

The pinnacle of The Pasta Awards will culminate in a grand finale on October 24th, 2023. Attendees at the Awards night will have the exclusive opportunity to savor the six best pasta dishes in the UAE, as selected by the expert jury, celebrating the excellence of pasta in its diverse forms.

The three selected categories for The Pasta Awards are as follows:

  1. Best Innovative Pasta: Showcasing dishes that push the boundaries of traditional recipes by incorporating unique flavors, unconventional ingredients, or creative techniques.
  2. Best Traditional Pasta: Featuring classic Italian culinary recipes that skillfully combine pasta with a variety of flavorful ingredients, staying true to the heart of Italian cuisine.
  3. Best Vegetarian Pasta: Highlighting pasta-based meals that exclude any meat or seafood components, celebrating the art of vegetarian pasta preparation.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to the sponsors of The Pasta Awards, some of the most prominent pasta and pasta ingredients’ brand distributors in the UAE: Casinetto, with Pasta Canuti and Caputo Flour, Safco with Pasta Delverde, Italian Dairy Products with their array of fresh mozzarella made in the UAE, Italtouch with truffle-based gourmet products, and Terre Cevico that has consistently supported the Italian Business Council’s initiatives,” concludes Thomas Paoletti.

To participate in The Pasta Awards, anyone can cast their vote directly on the official website: https://italianbusinesscouncil.com/the-pasta-awards/ until July 31st. Join us in this exciting celebration of pasta excellence, as we honor the culinary heritage of Italy and the gastronomic diversity of the UAE.
