The Bunge Group, to which Deli Reform belongs, is committed to fair growing conditions in the shea harvest. Unlike palm oil, shea fat is not grown on plantations. Harvesting is mainly done by cooperatively organized groups made up mostly of women. The shea collectors in particular should receive fair working conditions and a secure income in order to strengthen the position of women. As a founding member of the Global Shea Alliance (GSA), it is not only about protecting nature, but also about social commitment. In addition, an in-house refinery in Ghana ensures more transparency in supply chains and higher added value directly in the country of origin – for the protection and long-term preservation of the shea cultivation regions.
