Gulfood Manufacturing 2023: Tate & Lyle launches ‘challenge accepted’

Tate & Lyle, a world leader in ingredient solutions for healthier food and beverages, has announced the launch of a new formulation initiative called ‘Challenge Accepted’. The initiative invites food and beverage manufacturers to submit their most complex product formulation challenges to be addressed by the Tate & Lyle technical team at the Gulfood Manufacturing: Food Tech Manufacturing Event 2023.

To submit to the ‘Challenge Accepted’ initiative, food and beverage manufacturers can send an email outlining their product challenge to salestmea@tateandlyle.com by Friday, 27 October 2023.

The final solutions to some of the most complex challenges will be unveiled in the prototypes offered for sampling at the Tate & Lyle booth E6-28, Hall 6 during the Gulfood Manufacturing event on 7-9 November 2023*.

The challenge initiative stems from the brand’s promise to use science to find solutions that help solve society’s challenges — Science\Solutions\Society — and a deep understanding of the company’s purpose — Transforming Lives through the Science of Food.

Tate & Lyle’s technical team will use their expertise and vast ingredients solutions portfolio to solve complicated food formulation challenges based on the most recent insights for consumer preferences around increased health benefits, cost-effectiveness, and positive societal and environmental impact across key categories, such as beverages, dairy, bakery, soups, sauces, and dressings.

Attendees will be able to taste the final solutions of some of the most complex challenges at one of three prototype stations at Tate & Lyle’s booth during the show, marked according to their impact areas: sugar and calorie reduction, mouthfeel and texture for sensory enrichment and fibre fortification. Attendees can also look forward to a special trivia game on the exhibition floor, where guests can accept the challenge to test their knowledge of ingredients, solutions, and industry and market trends with the chance to win exciting prizes!

Hussam Yaccoub, Vice President for Sales for Turkey, Middle East, Africa at Tate & Lyle, commented: “This year has been a significant milestone for the transformation of the company and reaffirms our unwavering commitment to work with our customers to create ingredients solutions that support healthier and more sustainable living.”

Yaccoub continued, “The Gulfood Manufacturing event is a timely opportunity to showcase and celebrate our role as a leading solutions partner for new and existing customers, which goes beyond offering a diversified portfolio of ingredients. This year’s ‘Challenge Accepted’ initiative demonstrates our deep understanding of consumer trends and the food system, combined with the scientific and technical expertise necessary to harness nature’s ingredients and create solutions for customers and wider society.”

The Tate & Lyle booth at the Gulfood Manufacturing Show will be the official Middle East and North Africa region’s unveiling of the company’s global rebrand, launched earlier this year.

Tate & Lyle experts will be at the Gulfood Manufacturing: Food Tech Manufacturing event in booth E6-28, Hall 6, Dubai World Trade Centre from 7-9 November 2023 ready to answer questions about their innovative ingredients solutions that add taste, mouthfeel, nutrition, and functionality to a wide range of food and beverages.
